Our Story

Our vision is for better targeted neurodiversity support
At BetterReality, we believe neurodiversity support should be less of an art and more of a science. We believe that better neurodiversity support needs to be grounded in thorough understanding of the individual issues.

Traditional assessments can be slow, resource-heavy, and inaccessible... leaving too many students without the help they need. That’s why we created a VR-powered cognitive screening solution that empowers schools to act quickly and effectively.

By leveraging cutting-edge research and immersive technology, we provide data-driven insights that help educators, SEND coordinators, researchers, and healthcare professionals make informed decisions with confidence.

No child should slip through the cracks.
No potential should go unsupported.

Core Values
Empowerment Through Understanding
Knowledge is power, and the right insights can change a life.
Equipping educators, clinicians, and parents with clear, objective data to drive informed decisions with confidence. By understanding the unique cognitive profile of each child, we enable earlier interventions, better support, and hopefully, better realities tailored for individual needs
Innovation with Impact
Technology should have a purpose. Our VR-powered cognitive screening isn't just innovative…it's built to solve real-world challenges in neurodiversity support.
We use immersive, interactive tools to create engaging, anxiety-free assessments that ensure every child can get the support they deserve. Ideally, before they really need it.
Science-Backed Precision
Subjective observations and outdated assessments leave too many children behind. That's why we rely on proven research, cognitive science, and advanced VR tracking to deliver measurable, bias-free insights.
Our solutions are developed with the support of academics from Leiden University and the University of Amsterdam.
We believe in using VR because...
How BetterReality Was Born

BetterReality was founded by Paul Cook, a UK tech entrepreneur who experienced firsthand the frustration of ineffective mental health support.

Misdiagnosed for 26 years, he realised that the root problem was unstructured, unreliable diagnostic processes.

He created BetterReality to build an alternative.

Many former colleagues have joined Paul because the need for reliable psychodiagnostics to enable effective care is self-obvious. Contributors include academics from Leiden and the University of Amsterdam.
Let's make sure no child is left behind.
